American Diner meets Vietnamese comfort food..yes, please!
I love the dinette, located in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles. It’s a great meet up spot for me and my friends that are scattered around LA (Misty, let’s go again soon!) and it’s BYOB, so that’s pretty cool and makes for a cheaper night out. Veggie, vegan, and meat options, plus a cool staff and owner, i’m SOLD! So, whether you get a curry vegetable (or chicken) pot pie, a bowl of pho, rice noodle salad, curry with greens and rice, a delicious roasted oyster mushroom baguette sandwich, just make sure you get an order of rice cakes with crispy scallion tofu and some of the spicy fries with cilantro and chiles. dang, those two are SO tasty! They also have great desserts. I’ve only had the maple coconut bread pudding (yes, vegan) but i hear they are all delicious. I’m always excited to go there, great spot, period.
*pot pie can’t be made vegan, but multiple friends have told me it’s awesome, plus Jonathon Gold loves it.
